About the Department

The department of Mechanical Engineering is one of the most progressive departments in KLU with an industry drive curriculum designed by companies like Cyient Technologies, John Deer, National Industrial Security Academy (NISA) and professional bodies like American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and Institute of Engineers (IEI).
With an emphasis on “Product Design” and “Autotronics, our students could enter automobile giants like Ashok Leyland, Cyient Technologies, Essar, FMC Technip, Hyundai, John Deer, Larsen & Toubro, Mercedes Benz, Mahindra, Tata Projects, Thermax and Thermadyne toname a few. Apart from core Mechanical Engineering, our students would acquire skills in JAVA, Python and R-Programming, so that they are also placed with the technology leaders like Cognizant, Cummins, Google, Infosys Microsoft, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Virtusa.
With hands-on experience in Robotics & Mechatronics, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, Signal Analysis & Processing, Internet of Things (IoT), our students could meet the evolving needs of the industries to sustain in the job market.
Trained in the full-fledged Design and Fabrication facility (Fab Lab, Central Fabrication Unit - PIT) our students can design and build their own prototype models and participate in Internationally recognized Professional body competitions like; Asian E-Bike Challenge, Hybrid Vehicle Challenge, Go Karting, HPVC, Under Water Vehicle Challenge, Quad Bike, M-Baja, E-Baja and SUPRA etc., organized by various.
About the University
Koneru Lakshmaiah Charities was established as a Trust in the year 1980 and started K L College of Engineering in the Academic year 1980-81. The trust was converted into a Society by the name Koneru Lakshmaiah Educational Foundation in the year 1996. The K L College of Engineering has attained autonomous status in the year 2006 and in February 2009, the Koneru Lakshmaiah Education Foundation was recognized as Deemed to be University. The University is situated in a spacious 150-acre campus on the banks of Buckingham Canal of river Krishna, eight kilometers from Vijayawada city, Andhra Pradesh, INDIA. Built within a rural setting of lush green fields, the institute is a virtual paradise of pristine nature and idyllic beauty. The campus has been aptly named as “Green Fields” and the splendid avenue of trees and gardens bear testimony to the importance of ecology and environment. The campus ambiance is most befitting for scholastic pursuits. The University has been situated on a built-up area of around 15, 00, 000 Sq.ft.
